Lucky Dog Rescue In Houston
Lucky Dog Rescue is a not for profit volunteer animal rescue in Houston, TX. Lucky Dog doesn’t have a shelter to visit. Volunteers of the organization care for the dogs at their own homes. Dogs may also be placed in kennels and vet clinics when foster homes are unavailable.
Lucky Dog Rescue is a general dog rescue. It doesn’t specialize in labradoodle rescue, but there are quite a few mixed breeds available through their PetFinder page so it’s worth taking a look for labradoodles. All of their dogs are treated with preventative care, vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered while in care.
Like most rescues, there is a standard adoption process when adoption a dog. The first step is to complete the application form online and email it to the coordinator. Applications are reviews and then you receive notification to set up a time for a home visit, at which time you have the opportunity to meet the dog in your home.
If the home visit goes smoothly, Lucky Dog Rescue allows a one week trial to make certain you and your new dog will be happy in your home. The adoption fee is $150, which is actually not bad considering fees can cost $200 or more with other rescues.
